We celebrate the publication of each issue with a reading that is free and open to the public. Light refreshments are served afterward, when audience members have the opportunity to meet the contributors and purchase copies of LPR.
The reading marking the launch of the Summer 2012 Audacity issue will be held from 2:00 to 4:00 pm on Saturday, June 23, 2012 at Oliver’s Carriage House, 5410 Leaf Treader Way, Columbia, MD 21044 as part of the Columbia Festival of the Arts.
Contributors will share poetry, fiction and art. Dan Vera, a Split This Rock Poetry Festival veteran, Columbia poet Sally Rosen Kindred, whose first full-length book No Eden was released last year, and Brian Gilbert, the Maryland champion of the Poetry Out Loud contest, will be among the readers. The director of the Jiménez-Porter Writers’ House, Johnna Schmidt, will read her fiction. And artist Raoul Middleman will discuss his daring portraits. A complete list of presenters will be available in June.
We look forward to seeing you there!
