On October 21, 2013, LPR held its first ever Middle School Writers Festival, coinciding with the National Day of Writing. Made possible by a large team of LPR staff and contributors as well as generous contributions from the Maryland Humanities Council and the LPR community, the Festival provided students with a full day of attention and support of their writing. Published writers helped them develop their ideas and written work, and guided them through a workshop. Students were then given an opportunity to perform their work in front of their peers. Below are photos from LPR Multimedia Consultant, Eva Quintos Tennant. You can read more about the Festival in this blog post by Nonfiction Editor, Emily Rich.
